Peter is a partner in Paradigm Risk Consulting, a management consultancy specialising in governance and risk strategy, mainly at board and executive level. He has worked in a wide range of sectors and consults to financial sector firms and corporate businesses. He has also worked in and advised government sectors.
Peter has published studies on the financial crisis and systemic risk as well as the reaction to the financial crisis. He is currently leading a project on organisational culture.
Peter studied economics and has a post-graduate degree in international relations.
As an inventor and technologist, John has been involved in developing science and scientific applications of technology in to profit-making business activities for most of his career. From his post-doctoral work in nuclear radiation metering to bringing a new diamond synthesis process to market for De Beers, John has focused on bringing new ideas and technologies from concept to profit.
John has a doctorate in nuclear physics and microelectronics. He specialises in innovation and developing and harnessing new technologies commercially across fields as diverse as synthetic biology, information technology, engineering, irrigation technologies and pharmacology.
Colin is UK Country-wide Risk Officer for BNY Mellon. Previously, he has held senior risk roles in a number of leading financial institutions including Group Chief Risk Officer for a FTSE 100 financial services firm.
Colin is a scientist by background. He has a PhD in laser physics from St Andrews and retains an active interest in science and science development and the use of technology. He also has a degree in Geology, is a former Reserve Army Officer and an international marksman.
Ian spent more than 30 years with BP in a variety of financial and operating roles internationally up to and including BP's executive committee as group general auditor. He has served as a non-executive director of the UK Ministry of Defence and Chairman of a global recruitment company. He is presently a Trustee of the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust and of the International Institute for Environment & Development, a London-based think tank looking at climate change, resource use and sustainable markets.
Ian trained as a geologist and is a Fellow of ICAEW. He is also a member of the International Federation of Accountants' Professional Accountants in Business committee.
Patrick trained both as a lawyer and an accountant and has spent most of his career in the financial services industry. He is an Executive Director at EY in London where he specialises in strategy and risk as well as corporate governance.
As National Chairman of Crossroads Care, Patrick oversaw the merger with the Princess Royal Trust for Carers to form Carers' Trust. The total turnover of the combined network is approximately £150m. He remains Vice Chairman of Carers' Trust.
Having grown up in Turkey and Germany and studied in Germany and the UK, Mustafa divides his time between these locations. Mustafa is an expert in quantitative finance and is a leading authority on pricing contingent contracts and options pricing. He holds a PhD in financial mathematics and also has degrees in economics and business.
Mustafa is a partner in Paradigm Risk Consulting. He has recently developed a tool for analysis of operational risk which will revolutionise capital decision-making in mid-tier firms. In 2012, Mustafa completed his first hajj.
Haider is principal of Mannan Capital Partners, a boutique investment and advisory firm based in London. He advises some of the world's largest corporations as well as working on early-stage entrepreneurial projects.
Haider studied technology as well as quantitative finance and has always worked in technology-related fields. His advisory experience has focused on improving clients' access to and use of information in data-intensive environments – getting the most out of data. He has a keen interest in how people use information for decision-making.
